What Different Coffee Products Can You Buy For A Coffee Machine?

Having a hot cup of coffee in the morning is part of our daily routine for many of us. Our day just wouldn’t be the same without it. It makes us feel awake and it warms us up as well, helping us get ready for the day that lies ahead. After a while, drinking the same drink that tastes the same every time may start to get repetitive.

A result of this may see us not always enjoying our cups of coffee as much as we’d like to. It’s the same for tea drinkers too - those that prefer tea don’t always have to have an English breakfast blend. There’s Earl Grey, green tea and mint tea to name just a few. They can also add sugar or even honey to make it taste that bit more interesting from time to time. The same goes for coffee - there are loads of different ways to enjoy this beverage.

Generally speaking, coffee will always taste like coffee. Although different production techniques and different brands can alter the flavour profile, you will still taste the general flavour of coffee. Sure, you can get different beans that will vary in flavour such as their sweetness or bitterness, but once again, it’s still coffee after all. We don’t all want to have the same flavour every single day but if there is only one available flavour to go for when you have this drink, then what other options are out there for you to spice things up a bit?

What are the flavours that can be added to coffee products?

A coffee bean is a coffee bean. You can’t grow coffee beans that taste naturally of certain flavours, though some types of beans will have hints of other flavours like chocolate, vanilla, berries and citrus. What you can do to make these flavours more prominent is to add other flavours alongside it. The last two or three years has seen a boom in the popularity of these delicious flavour combinations.

This is likely due to a trend on social media that saw many people making whipped and iced coffees. The majority of social media users are young and their palettes aren’t accustomed to the bitter taste of coffee. To get around this, they started adding new flavours into the mix in order to make the drink more appealing and aligned with their flavour preferences.

Flavour pumps have been available in coffee shops for a while now. This product allowed certain flavours like hazelnut or caramel to be added into a coffee drink after it had been made using a smart coffee machine that is common in coffee shops. Flavourings for coffee can be bought as syrups in supermarkets and so on, but lots of people didn’t like the amount of sugar in them. Although there are now sugar free options available too, the market is currently seeing a boom for coffee that has been infused with an additional flavour as opposed to the flavour being added at the end of the process.

As this market is growing steadily, you will see more and more flavour combinations come out in stores. The most popular form of coffee that you will find these flavours in are coffee pods. One of the most popular flavours is vanilla. As you can imagine, the subtle sweetness of this partnered with the bitterness of coffee balances out to create a very smooth drink. But as time goes on, more unique flavours are coming out and certain coffee chain brands are jumping on the bandwagon too as they can see how popular the market is for it.

A toffee nut latte flavour has been released by one of the larger coffee chains as a festive edition, for example. Some smaller brands even take the flavour combinations further by creating infusions with gingerbread, Irish cream, coconut and even orange. Although these may sound like strange combinations, don’t make a judgement until you have tried them - they’re quite delicious! If you love flavoured coffee then you can easily create these drinks at home by buying infused beans or flavoured syrups to use alongside your coffee machine.
